OAK CLIFF, Texas -- Melody Hagen chose an opportune time to net her fourth goal of the season as the freshman striker landed a goal in the 59th minute play to vault the John Brown womens soccer team (11-6-1, 7-1-1 SAC) to a narrow 1-0 victory over Southwestern A.G. (Texas) on Saturday (Oct. 31) afternoon at the Life School.
The match, which was moved to another location due to poor field conditions, saw the visitors rack up a 21-7 shot advantage, led by junior Sara Lachances game-high five shots. Freshman Aspen Robinson added four while senior Nicole Kosin tallied a trio of attempts.

Lachance picked up her fifth assist of the season on the play.
“Today wasnt the best soccer weve ever played, but we were effective and got the job done,†admitted head coach Kathleen Paulsen. “I was proud of the girls and the effort. They put together a great weekend with two wins on the road.â€
