OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- For the first time in his career, sophomore Ben Martin leveraged his career-best time at the Missouri Southern State Stampede into an SAC Runner of the Week, the league office announced Monday (Sept. 17) afternoon.
Martin earns the award on the heels of his third career top-10 finish. At the Stampede, Martin battled through the heat to capture ninth place, leading the Golden Eagles to an eighth-place team finish. His time of 26:43 was a personal collegiate record, bettering his previous mark by 10 seconds.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday (Sept. 29) at the Rim Rock Classic, hosted by the University of Kansas at Rim Rock Farms.
