TULSA, Okla. -- The John Brown University women's tennis team fell by an 8-1 final on Monday (April 1) afternoon at the Bernis Duke Tennis Center against NCAA I Oral Roberts (Okla.).
While the host Golden Eagles captured two of the three doubles flights in sweeping fashion, junior Julia McNeill and freshman Sydney Smith was able to chip away two points off ORU's top tandem of Ceijenia Cornelius and Flavia Gutierrez.
In singles action, Smith battle to a 3-6 second-set score while sophomore Katie Sandeno landed a default victory Jovana Antonijevic.
JBU returns to the courts on Thursday (April 4) in Shawnee, Okla. to take on Oklahoma Baptist.
