SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- For the second time this season, the John Brown University women's tennis team fell in sweeping fashion to NCAA II Arkanas - Ft. Smith, this time at the JBU Tennis Courts on Tuesday (April 9) afternoon.
The visiting Lions (6-8) earned all three doubles points quickly before the squads moved on to singles play.
At the second flight, freshman Sydney Smith battled with Majella Nobile to a 6-1, 6-2 final. Freshman Sabrina Paiz and senior Natalie Mollan each chipped off a point at the third and fifth spots, respectively, but the Golden Eagles were unable to corral a two-set win in one-on-one play.
The road won't get an easier for the Golden Eagles as JBU closes the regular season on April 18 in Arkadelphia, Ark. where John Brown will take on two more NCAA II opponents in Henderson State (Ark.) and Ouachita Baptist (Ark.).
Prior to the match, the Golden Eagles honored its lone senior, Natalie Mollan.
