Stucker’s Title Run Earns Second SAC Weekly Honor

OKLAHOMA CITY -- After winning the Golden Eagle Invitational with the second-fastest 6K in John Brown University women's cross country history, sophomore Abigail Stucker was named the Sooner Athletic Women's Runner of the Week, presented by Digital Scoreboards, the league office announced Tuesday morning (Oct. 13).

The honor is the second SAC weekly award of Stucker's career.

Stucker topped a field of 83 runners Saturday at Pollard's Field in Siloam Springs, Ark., crossing in a collegiate-best 22:00. The Fort Worth, Texas, native lowered her previous 6K best of 22:33 by 33 seconds and finished just three seconds shy of Cera Eckenroth's program record of 21:57, set at the 2023 Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic.

The winning effort also stands as the third-fastest 6K performance in the Sooner Athletic this fall. Stucker led John Brown to the team title with 43 points as the Golden Eagles shattered the program 6K team-time record, finishing in 1:56:06 to take 3:51 off the previous standard.

The Blue and Gold return to competition Oct. 24 at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic in Ashland, Neb.
