Biography

Prep Career

A four-year letterwinner in both cross country and track under head coaches Ed Arnold and Tim Pohlman, Shasteen helped the Rams to conference titles in cross country and track in her sophomore season. She set a personal record as a sophomore by turning in a time of 19:47 in the 5,000-meter and was named the cross country team's most valuable runner en route to All-Conference first team honors all four seasons. In addition to the pole vault, she became a state qualifier in the 800 (2:30), 1600 (5:41), 3200 (12:35) and long jump (15'5). Shasteen's mark of 10'8 in the pole vault also set a program record.

Personal

Madelyn is the daughter of Chris and Christa Shasteen and majors in family and human services.
