Fun Facts

IN THE TOP 25

John Brown University women's soccer has established a solid record of national recognition. Since 2002, the program has been ranked in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll 135 times across 18 seasons.

The Golden Eagles have appeared in the national rankings in 18 of 23 seasons. Besides the inaugural season, the team was only absent from the rankings in 2004, 2011, 2012, and 2015. Starting with Poll 3 of 2016, JBU has been included in 91 consecutive polls, with their current position at No. 7.

The team has reached the Top 10 on 47 occasions. In 2018, JBU achieved a ranking of No. 5, while the 2021 season included 11 polls with the team in the top ten. Recent seasons have continued this trend, with high points of No. 8 in 2023 and No. 7 in 2024.

JBU has demonstrated consistent performance throughout entire seasons. Eight times the Golden Eagles have been ranked in every poll of a season: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. This includes the 2020 season, which was limited to five polls due to COVID-19.

The team's 91-poll streak represents a significant achievement. From September 27, 2016, when they were ranked No. 24, through December 18, 2024, with their No. 7 ranking, JBU has maintained a presence in the national rankings despite changes in competition and poll formats.

FIRST WHISTLE THROUGH FULL TIME

Preseason and postseason rankings provide context for a team's performance expectations and outcomes. JBU has been ranked in the preseason poll 12 times since 2006. Their highest preseason position came in 2024 at No. 7.

The team has finished the season ranked in the final poll ten times. Their highest postseason ranking was No. 7 in 2024, which matched their preseason ranking that year. In 2023, the team improved from a preseason rank of No. 20 to finish at No. 8.

JBU has been ranked in both the preseason and postseason polls during seven seasons: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

In 2024, JBU maintained their No. 7 preseason ranking in the final postseason poll (Poll 8) as the Golden Eagles made its deepest NAIA National Championships run in program history.

MILESTONES AND CORNERSTONES

In just their second season as varsity program, JBU first appeared in the Top 25 in 2003, ranked No. 19 in Poll 5. The team first reached the Top 15 in the 2006 preseason poll at No. 12. Since then, JBU has had Top 10 rankings in six seasons: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024.

The polls have varied in format and frequency over the years, ranging from five polls in 2020 to 13 in 2013 and 2014. JBU's current 91-poll streak includes every poll since 2016. In 2024, the team received dual No. 7 rankings in both the preseason and most recent polls.

With 18 ranked seasons in program history and continuous rankings from mid-2016 to 2024, John Brown University women's soccer has established itself as a consistent presence in the NAIA Top 25.
