Lovelace spent his sophomore season in Portsmouth, Ohio when he transferred to Shawnee State University for the 2024-25 season, competing for the Bears under head coach Michael Hunter. He finished second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.6 points per game, and added 5.7 rebounds across 29 appearances. Lovelace helped lead the Bears to the River States Conference East Division regular season title while shooting 52 percent from the field and 84 percent from the charity stripe. He recorded two double-doubles during the season, including a season-high 28 points with 10 rebounds against Indiana East and added 22 points with 12 rebounds against Simmons (Ky.) earlier in the season. Lovelace also posted 24 points in the season opener against Northwestern Ohio and pulled down a season-best 13 rebounds against Warner (Fla.) on December 18.

Lovelace began his collegiate career at Texas Wesleyan, appearing in 28 games during the 2023-24 season. The Rams' forward averaged 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 34 percent from the field. His season highs included eight points against Oklahoma Wesleyan and 13 rebounds versus Oklahoma Panhandle State.

A 2023 graduate of Prestonwood Christian Academy, the Murphy, Texas native competed as a 6-foot-9 forward for the Lions under head coach Jeff Clarkson. Lovelace helped the Lions capture the TAPPS 6A state title during his senior season while earning tournament MVP honors. He recorded a single-game high of 35 points and garnered first team All-State and first team All-Conference recognition.
