A 2025 graduate of Bentonville High School, the Bentonville native earned three letters playing as a 6-foot-4 guard for the Tigers in the 6A West Conference. Akbar competed under head coaches Dick Rippee and Kyle Pennington, recording single-game performances of 17 points against Rogers High School and 13 points with 11 rebounds against Little Rock Central High School during his senior season.
