Biography

Freshman | 2022-23

Appeared in 27 games as a freshman, making 21 starts, and averaged 21.1 minutes per night … led the Golden Eagles in field goal percentage by connecting on 54 percent (85-for-158) shots from the floor … tied for the team lead with 13 blocks … scored 7.6 points and grabbed 4.9 rebounds per game … scored in double digits 10 times, including six games in a row in late January and early February … tallied a season-high 21 points at #3 Langston (Jan. 28) … posted consecutive double-doubles against Southwestern A.G. (Feb. 6) and Oklahoma Panhandle State (Feb. 9) … added a third double-double in a matchup with Mid-America Christian (Feb. 16).

Prep Career

After a pair of seasons at Bolivar High School under head coach Robby Hoegh, Gabani bolsters the Golden Eagle post presence with his 6-foot-7 size. The Bolivar, Mo. native finished his Liberator career with the fifth-best shooting percentage in program history and helped lead the team to a Class 5 state runner-up as a junior. In his swan song season, Gabani helped the team to a district title and was named to the All-Conference and All-District teams. He boasted a single-game career high of 32 points and eight boards in his junior season.

Personal

Lukas is the son of Michal and the late Rachel Gabani and hopes to major in nursing.
