A 2025 graduate of Pottsville High School, Fryar competed in distance events for the Apaches at the 4A level under head coach Melissa Moudy in cross country and head coach Greg Coffman in track and field. The native Arkansan set a program record with a 10:18 in the 3,200 meters during his junior season and was part of the 800-meter relay team that established a program record of 8:26 as a senior.

Fryar was part of the 2024 state championship cross country team and helped the Apaches capture conference titles during 2022, 2023, and 2024. He also contributed to the 2023 conference championship track team. The four-year letterwinner in cross country and three-year letterwinner in track earned All-State honors in both sports during his junior and senior seasons, while receiving All-Conference recognition in cross country as a junior and senior and in track across three consecutive seasons.

Chandler is the son of Jerry Fryar and Lea Ann Francis and hopes to major in accounting.
