Biography

Junior | 2021

Appeared in 15 games, making 12 starts … ranked second on the team with six goals and four assists (16 points) … played 1,109 minutes … totaled 52 shots, with 25 on goal - ranking second on team in both categories … scored one game-winning goal at Southwestern A.G. (Oct. 27) … tallied two goals on three occassions against Southwestern A.G., Oklahoma Panhandle State (Oct. 18) and Southwestern Christian (Oct. 30).

Sophomore | 2020

Started 11 times in 12 appearances … ranked second on the team with seven goals and five assists (19 points) … played 995 minutes in the midfield … racked up a team-high 51 shots, 22 on goal … posted his third-career hat trick versus Texas Wesleyan (March 27) … went for two more goals for a brace against Central Christian (March 16) … finished with two assists against Oklahoma City (March 13).

Freshman | 2019

Started all 22 matches … logged 1,826 minutes played … finished with 20 goals, nine assists (49 points) … was second on the team in goals and points … finished fifth in the nation with 5.1 shots per game, 12th in the nation in goals and 12th in total points … posted a trio of game-winning goals … netted his first collegiate goal versus Lyon (Aug. 23) … scored clinching goal against Wayland Baptist in the SAC tournament semifinals to send squad to first title match since 2012.

Prep Career

Carballo began his national team stints with a pair of seasons with the Costa Rican U-15 National Team, which was followed up with a spot on the 2015 U-17 National Team. Most recently, he suited up with the Deportivo Saprissa's academy side, Costa Rica's largest academy, which has trained over half the players on Costa Rica's 2018 World Cup team.

Oscar is the son of Oscar Carballo and Nidia Arce and majors in construction management.
