Kaylee Marmion joined the Golden Eagle track and field staff as pole vaults coach prior to the 2024 season.
An aspiring registered dietitian, Marmion has demonstrated a strong passion for nutrition, health, and community service. She began pursuing her Master of Science in Dietetics at the University of Kansas Medical Center and is poised to make a significant impact in the field.
A former athlete at Elite Sportz Pole Vault Club, Marmion trained for three years and served as an assistant coach for training camps and coached middle school students. A two-time TAPPS 4A pole vault state qualifier, Marmion transitioned in college to working with Division I athletes in a sports nutrition capacity.
Marmion's dietetic internship at the University of Kansas Medical Center has provided her with valuable hands-on experience in various settings. She engaged with diverse communities through rotations at organizations like Eat with the B, RD, and Unbound Recovery, further solidifying her commitment to serving others and promoting healthy eating habits. Her management rotation at Gardner-Edgerton School District and clinical rotation at Children's Mercy Hospital equipped her with the practical skills necessary to excel in both institutional and clinical dietetics.
With a passion for nutrition that extends beyond her formal training, Marmion actively seeks opportunities to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with others. As a Sports Nutrition Intern at Kansas State Athletics, she promoted basic nutrition education to athletes and leveraged social media to reach a wider audience. Her previous experiences as a Dietitian's Aid at Hy-Vee Grocery and Future Leader in Training at Sodexo further honed her ability to communicate effectively, educate others and contribute to a positive and supportive environment.
Marmion holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Health from Kansas State University, also minoring in kinesiology. In addition to her academic qualifications, Marmion had earned several certifications, including Registered Dietitian, Arkansas State Dietetics License, and Servsafe Manager.
