A 2025 graduate of Kansas City Christian School, Chan competed as a multi-sport athlete for the Panthers at the 2A level. The native Kansan earned four letters in track and field under head coach Lisa Painter and four letters in volleyball under head coaches Katelyn Patterson and Libby Lawrence.

The four-year letterwinner set the program record in the 300-meter hurdles as a freshman and posted personal records of 16.95 in the 100-meter hurdles, 46.69 in the 300-meter hurdles, 13.07 in the 100 meters, 26.85 in the 200 meters, and 16-7 in the long jump. Chan helped the track and field team capture the conference championship in 2021.

Katalina is the daughter of Benton and Deanna Chan and hopes to major in nursing.
