Biography

Meghan Ellis enters her third season as an assistant coach for the John Brown University women's soccer program.

In that role, she has taken a lead hand in recruiting and evaluating talent, building training sessions tailored to individual players' development, and reinforcing a standard of excellence both on and off the field while the Golden Eagles have won consecutive Sooner Athletic regular season and tournament titles.

Ellis has also played a key role in the program's spiritual life, discipling players through significant moments in their college careers and incorporating devotional material into the team's routine. That work has helped sustain the culture of honest communication and unity the program is built on.

Prior to joining the JBU staff, Ellis coached at the club and high school levels, working with Sporting Arkansas, Bentonville West High School and Siloam Springs High School, the same program where she played in her prep career before going on to play collegiately at JBU.

A four-year letterwinner for the Golden Eagles from 2018 to 2021, Ellis appeared in 55 matches and made 17 starts, tallying one goal and two assists for four points across 2,359 minutes of action. As an upperclassman, she helped the Golden Eagles win back-to-back SAC regular season and tournament championships, and was honored as an NAIA Champion of Character in 2020.

A standout at Siloam Springs High School, Ellis served as team captain in 2017 and 2018, was named Defensive Player of the Year and All-State from 2017 to 2018, and was part of a four-year state championship run.

Ellis graduated cum laude from JBU in 2022 with a degree in Secondary Mathematics Education.

She and her husband, Caleb, reside in Siloam Springs.
