Prep Career
Barnes, a four-year letterwinner in both basketball and volleyball, suited up for four seasons under head coach Alayna Roberts at Baxter Springs. While a Lion, the 6-foot-1 middle led her squad to a state semifinalist finish as a sophomore en route to a career that featured over 1,200 terminations. In her senior season, Barnes boasted 458 kills, 313 digs, 53 blocks and 49 services aces. The class valedictorian was a two-time unanimous All-League first team selection and earned an All-State second team nod in her final campaign. Her basketball career was just as impressive - Barnes nabbed a 3A Player of the Year finalist position and was a three-time All-State pick, twice landing on the first team.
