A 2025 graduate of Mena High School, the Mena native earned four letters under head coach Heather Goss, and added four more in track under head coach Landon Dover and another pair in soccer under head coach Chad Arnold, competing in the 4A West conference. The 5-foot-10 middle blocker helped the Ladycats win four straight conference championships (2021-24), add a regional runner-up finish in 2024, and capture a conference district title as a senior in 2025. Montgomery averaged 18 kills per game as a senior and was named to SB Live's Top 25 middle blockers list in 2025. She was a three-time 4A All-State selection from 2023-25, adding All-State Tournament honors in 2024 and 2025 and All-4A West recognition in each of her four seasons.

Montgomery also piled up three All-Conference honors in track and more All-Conference recognition in soccer as a senior.

Reese is the daughter of Clint and Telissa Montgomery and plans to major in nursing.
