Volleyball Makes Quick Work of Drovers

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Junior Jessica Meyer and senior Bayli Reagan each posted nine kills, and the John Brown University volleyball squad yielded just 27 points in a quick clean sweep (25-10, 25-9, 25-8) win over Science & Arts (Okla.) on Saturday (Aug. 8) afternoon at the Gaulke Activity Center.

The match, which was originally scheduled at the Drover Fieldhouse, had to be relocated to the campus of Mid-America Christian University due to unplayable court conditions.

The Golden Eagles (3-5, 3-1 Sooner Athletic) were click on all cylinders offensively, hitting a season-best .545 (38-8-55) in the match, paced by Meyer and Reagan. Reagan added four of John Brown's season-best 17 aces, as junior Elizabeth Williams posted a career-best five aces of her own. Freshman Jenna Lowery also added four aces in the win.

Lowery boasted nearly 50 percent of JBU's digs, finishing with nine on the match. Freshman Carrie Ciesla passed out 18 assists on 38 Golden Eagle kills.

John Brown finally returns to Siloam Springs for its first home matches of the season, taking on Wayland Baptist (Texas) on Friday (Sept. 14) evening before welcoming Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday for a matinee matchup.
