#6 Women’s Soccer Rolls SAGU in Regular-Season Road Finale

WAXAHACHIE, Texas -- Junior Emily Jordan scored for the second consecutive game and the No. 6 John Brown University women's soccer team piled up 36 shots in a lopsided 3-0 win over Southwestern A.G. (Texas) on Saturday (Oct. 26) afternoon at Life High School.

The Golden Eagles (11-3-1, 6-1-0 Sooner Athletic) put up 18 shot attempts in each half and used a pair of goals in the second half to help dispel the bad taste lingering from the loss on Thursday night.

Jordan's goal – her second of the season – came in the 24th minute as she beat SAGU keeper Sarah Palmer off a pass from sophomore Megan Hutto.

The visitors continued to pepper Palmer and the Lion goal, but were unable to break through again until senior Anne Metz's ninth goal of the season in the 52nd provided some insurance and doubled the JBU advantage.

With her second goal in four matches, junior Anna Schuchardt's strike in the 80th minute widened the margin to 3-0. Junior Natalie Aycock posted her second assist of the season on the play.

The Lions actually scrounged up some offensive pressure in the second half, and forced junior Caitlyn Logan to complete the match with seven saves. The hosts were unable to solve Logan, however, leading to her 11th clean sheet of the season.

Sophomore Alair Love and junior Vanessa Reynoso led the match with five shot attempts apiece. Freshman Jenna Miller landed all three of her attempts on target.

Up Next
John Brown returns to the pitch on Tuesday (Oct. 29) when it will welcome Mid-America Christian (Okla.) to Alumni Field for a 5 p.m. kickoff. The Evangels are the hottest team of the conference, having won six straight as MACU looks to clinch hosting duties in the upcoming Sooner Athletic tournament quarterfinals.

Note
Because of the weather that moved through the Dallas-Ft. Worth area over the weekend, the match was moved to Life High School in Waxahachie, originally scheduled for Lion Field on the campus of Southwestern A.G.
