SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- Behind a balanced attack and a strong defensive showing, the John Brown University women's basketball team powered past Central Christian (Kan.), 81-40, in Sooner Athletic Conference play on Thursday evening (Dec. 12) inside Bill George Arena.

Gottsponer added a late steal that led to a buzzer-beating Sanders triple to cap the dominant quarter.

In the second quarter, JBU built on its lead with a steady offensive effort. Although Central Christian briefly cut the deficit to 19 twice, late Ferguson and Snodgrass buckets down low restored the Golden Eagles' momentum, 41-25, before the intermission.

John Brown doubled up the visiting Tigers in the third and continued its hot shooting throughout the second half. In the fourth quarter, Ferguson added a three-pointer and another steal, while Gibbons hit her third trey of the night.
