SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- In a match that didn't feature much offense from either side, the John Brown University volleyball team fell in straight sets (13-25, 20-25, 19-25) on Friday night (Oct. 17) to SAC-leading Texas Wesleyan inside Bill George Arena.
The Rams (17-4, 14-0 Sooner Athletic) remained undefeated in league play behind a pair of seven-kill efforts from Migdaly Bernal and Loes Peijnenburg as the visitors hit .264 (34-11-87) on the night but needed only 34 total terminations to seal the victory.
Freshman Kate Carlson and senior Emma-Kate Schaefer each paced the JBU offensive effort with six kills apiece, but the Golden Eagle (8-14, 4-10) offense finished below .100 (29-21-101) for the sixth time this season.
JBU is 1-12 on the year when it finishes below a .150 attacking percentage.
Sophomore Tessa Burton passed around 11 assists and added seven digs, while sophomore Mallory Jury added six more scoops in the back row and a pair of aces.
Freshman Paige Addington played heroically in the back row, posting a match-leading 16 digs, the 11th time this season the Siloam Springs product has racked up at least 15 scoops in a match.
