OKLAHOMA CITY -- John Brown University sophomore guard Sarah Snodgrass has been named the Sooner Athletic Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring the Golden Eagles (4-4, 2-0 Sooner Athletic) in a pair of home wins over Wayland Baptist (Texas) and Oklahoma Panhandle State, the conference office announced Monday morning (Nov. 24).
It is her third weekly honor of the season – two defensive and one offensive – and the fifth of her career.
Over 28.5 minutes a night, Snodgrass averaged 13.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in victories over Flying Queens and Aggies, collecting 27 rebounds in 57 total minutes while committing just three fouls. She grabbed 15 rebounds in only 30 minutes against Wayland Baptist before adding 12 boards and two steals on Saturday, extending her streak to six straight games in double-figure rebounding.
Through seven games, the Lincoln, Ark., native leads the SAC in rebounding at 12.1 boards per game and ranks second in scoring at 20.4 points per night.
