OKLAHOMA CITY -- John Brown University sophomore guard Sarah Snodgrass has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Golden Eagles on the glass during a pair of games at the season-opening Tabor Classic in Hillsboro, Kan., the conference office announced Monday morning (Nov. 3).
Snodgrass anchored the Golden Eagle defense with 25 total rebounds across two contests, averaging 12.5 boards, 1.5 steals and more than 33 minutes per game. She opened the season with back-to-back double-doubles, grabbing 13 rebounds and two steals against host Tabor before adding 12 boards and another steal versus Bethany (Kan.).
Offensively, the Lincoln, Ark., native continued to shoulder a heavy workload, averaging 18.0 points while shooting 36 percent (16-of-44) from the field. After scoring 16 points against Bethany (Kan.), she closed the weekend with a 20-point effort versus Tabor.
