OKLAHOMA CITY -- John Brown University sophomore guard Sarah Snodgrass swept the Sooner Athletic Player of the Week awards after averaging 32.0 points and 18.5 rebounds in a dominant two-game road stretch, the conference office announced Monday morning (Dec. 8).
Snodgrass delivered one of the most memorable performances in program history Thursday night in Oklahoma City, where she poured in 33 points and hauled down a program-record 24 rebounds in a 69-63 loss at Abe Lemons Arena. Logging 39 minutes, she became just the second JBU player ever to post a 30-20 game and the first in more than four decades, joining Lisa Hunt's 35-point, 20-rebound effort from the 1983-84 season.
Two days later, she steadied the Golden Eagles again, this time scoring 31 points and collecting 13 rebounds in a 73-67 overtime win at Southwestern Christian (Okla.).
Through ten games, Snodgrass is averaging 21.5 points and 12.9 rebounds while ranking sixth nationally in rebounding and ninth in scoring. She leads the Sooner Athletic Conference in both categories and has recorded eight double-doubles on the year.
This week's sweep lifts her career total to seven weekly SAC honors – three offensive and four defensive – and marks the second time she has captured both awards in the same week.
