KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- John Brown sophomore guard Sarah Snodgrass has been named the NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week after a dominant two-game road stretch in which she averaged 32 points and delivered one of the most historic performances in program history, the national office announced Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 9).
Snodgrass opened the week at Oklahoma City with 33 points and a program-record 24 rebounds in a 69-63 setback inside Abe Lemons Arena, becoming just the second Golden Eagle ever to post a 30-20 line and the first since Lisa Hunt's 35-point, 20-rebound effort in the 1983-84 season.
She followed with another major outing at Southwestern Christian (Okla.), finishing with 31 points and 13 rebounds to guide the Golden Eagles to a 73-67 overtime victory.
Across the two games, Snodgrass totaled 64 points on 24-of-43 shooting while collecting 37 rebounds and playing 75 minutes. Her performances also earned her both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards from the Sooner Athletic Conference.
"I am so proud of Sarah and all of the unseen hours of work she puts into being the best she can be," said head coach Sydney Webb. "She is a tremendous athlete and an even better person. I know she will continue to grow and reach new heights as we push forward as a team this season. I'm thankful that she received this well-deserved recognition."
Through ten games, the Lincoln, Ark., native is averaging 21.5 points and 12.9 rebounds, ranking sixth nationally in rebounding and tenth in scoring. She leads the Sooner Athletic Conference in both categories and has recorded eight double-doubles on the year.
Snodgrass is only the third Golden Eagle since 2000 to claim a national Player of the Week award. She joins 2022 honoree Tarrah Stephens and 2006 selection Kendra McCormick on the exclusive list.
