SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- Behind a trio of hat tricks, the No. 7 John Brown University women's soccer team erupted for 13 first-half goals as the Golden Eagles cruised past Mission (Mo.), 18-0, on Friday night (Aug. 28) at Alumni Field.

The Golden Eagles (2-1-0) finished with 18 goals, 20 assists and 56 points, surpassing the previous single-game marks of 15 goals, 19 assists and 49 points set at Bacone (Okla.) on Oct. 1, 2016.

Thirteen different Golden Eagles recorded a point in the lopsided contest against the first-year program.

Sophomore Andi Riley had three goals and three assists for nine points, tying the program's single-game points record. Juniors Holly Lanter and Katherine Keys also recorded hat tricks.

The Blue and Gold scored 13 goals in the first half, beginning with sophomore Joy Long's goal 1:42 into the match. Junior Caitlin Hilson scored less than two minutes later, and Lanter made it 3-0 at the 3:54 mark.

Lanter finished with three goals and two assists, while Keys added three goals and two assists. Long had two goals and four assists, and Hilson and senior Clare Barger each contributed a brace.

Senior Addie Craig, senior Brooklyn Hendricks and junior Tianna Jones also scored for the Golden Eagles.

Keys completed her hat trick in the 21st minute, scoring her second, third and fourth goals of the season. Riley completed her hat trick with the final goal of the match in the 89th minute.

John Brown outshot Mission (0-3-0) 44-0 and put 25 shots on goal. Mission goalkeeper Emma Vance made seven saves.

Freshman Ansley Fuchs played all 90 minutes in goal for John Brown and recorded the shutout to improve to 2-1-0 this season.
