OKLAHOMA CITY -- After recording a hat trick in John Brown University's regular-season finale to help secure the program's fourth consecutive Sooner Athletic championship, junior forward Katherine Keys was named the Sooner Athletic Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Digital Scoreboards, the league office announced Monday (Nov. 2).
Keys scored on all three of her shots in No. 19 John Brown's 5-1 victory over Oklahoma City on Tuesday evening (Oct. 27) at Alumni Field, producing six points in 55 minutes while raising her team-leading season total to 10 goals. The victory moved the Golden Eagles to 12-1-3 overall and 8-0-1 in league play while securing the No. 1 seed in the SAC tournament and the 10th regular-season championship in program history.
The Topeka, Kan., native opened the scoring in the 14th minute, finishing a sequence set up by senior Julia Lambert and senior Addie Craig. Keys struck twice more after the interval, converting junior Tianna Jones' service in the 53rd minute before the same combination produced her third goal just over five minutes later to complete the hat trick.
The selection is the third SAC weekly award of Keys' career and her first this season. It gives the Blue and Gold eight women's soccer weekly honors in 2026 among seven different players, with the awards now split evenly between four offensive and four defensive selections. Keys joins sophomore Andi Riley, Craig and Jones as Offensive Player of the Week recipients, while freshman goalkeeper Ansley Fuchs has earned two defensive honors alongside junior Caitlin Hilson and junior Bella Mendieta.
Top-seeded John Brown opens the Sooner Athletic tournament Tuesday evening (Nov. 3), welcoming eighth-seeded Texas Wesleyan to Alumni Field for a 7 p.m. quarterfinal. Tournament coverage will be available live on the SAC Sports Network.
