OKLAHOMA CITY -- John Brown University sophomore Constantin Bauer has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Digital Scoreboards, the conference office announced Monday morning (Sept. 7).
It is the first career weekly honor for Bauer, a midfielder from Mainz, Germany.
Bauer's performance helped lead the No. 13 Golden Eagles to a 3-0 victory over No. 25 Xavier, marking JBU's first road win over a ranked opponent since 2018. He recorded his first collegiate brace, scoring both goals in the match's later stages – one in the 71st minute and another in the 78th.
Bauer finished with four total shots, two of which were on frame, converting both attempts into goals.
The Blue and Gold return to action later today in The Swamp, where the Golden Eagles will take on No. 18 LSU-Shreveport (La.) in a matinee contest. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
