In 1990-91, the John Brown University men's basketball team captured its first and only National Christian College Athletics Association national championship in program history. The team was coached by long-time Golden Eagle legend John Sheehy and posted an overall record of 25-8, the most wins ever recorded by a JBU team at that time.
Led by Greg Paschal, Brad Cole, David Finch, Donnie Bostwick and Shane Benson, the Golden Eagles established program records - including reaching 25 wins for the first time in program history, in addition to single-season records in three-point efficiency at 44.4 percent (284-640), a 76 percent mark at the free throw line (633-832) and scoring with 2,851 points (84.4).
