AMBER SQUIRES was the first-ever NAIA All-America volleyball selection from John Brown University. Her accomplishments are a result of the high standards she set for herself both on and off the court. In addition to being a three-time All-America honoree, Amber was selected as the Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year at JBU on two occasions.
KNOWN for her power hits out of the middle, an athlete of Amber's caliber and dedication to the sport is rare to find. It may be a long time before we see another player with this level of ability. Her accomplishments during her senior season earned her the Sooner Athletics' Most Valuable Player honor as a senior.
AMBER was an impressive four-time SAC All-Conference first team selection. During those four seasons, John Brown University compiled a 106-46 (.697) record and attained its first-ever NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top-25 Poll in 2000. She also established program records for number of matches played and finished her career as the program leader in total kills.
NOT ONLY a great volleyball player, Amber also excelled in the classroom and was one of the finest examples of Christian character. During her senior season, she was honored by JBU with the Champions of Character award.
