WINNER. During Luke Harper’s first pair of seasons in the Blue and Gold, the men’s basketball team posted records of 23-11 and 28-5, the latter tying a single-season program win record, while earning back-to-back bids to the NAIA National Championships. Highlighted by consecutive Sooner Athletic Tournament runner-up achievements, the Golden Eagles posted an overall record of 78-36 (.684) over Luke’s four-year career.
SCORER. As a player, Luke will be best remembered as a pure scorer. Powered by his infamous one-footed floater from virtually anywhere inside the arc, he finished his Golden Eagle career as the 10th all-time leading scorer with 1,443 points. Despite a shortened junior season, Luke’s four-year totals include pouring in 211 triples and shooting an incredible 83.5 percent from the foul line.
DRIVEN. Luke was relentless in his pursuit of improvement during his time in Siloam Springs, and possessed a rare discipline to consistently work on his game. Even right after playing a game, he would often be found shooting in Murray Sells Gymnasium late into the night, refining his patented floaters extending his range and experimenting on creative new ways to score. This drive and resolve led him to make a number of clutch plays throughout his career, including a game-winning triple to take down No. 9 Southwestern Assemblies of God University and a monster 39-point outburst at Langston University, which stood as his single-game career high.
