ALL-AMERICAN ... The very mention of the title conjures up visions of an individual's most magnificent athletic achievements. It represents dreams born in school yards and chased through years of practice. It evolves into an athlete, who, when his destiny to perform unfolds, finds his shots bolt thunderously into the net or his deft passes to a teammate end up with equal triumph; a hero with upraised arms in a moment of glory etched in our minds as an ideal of athletic excellence, courage, and sportsmanship.

SUCH is Terry Brown, recognized by the NAIA as a three-time All-American. By being selected for three consecutive years, Brown, a six-foot forward from Antigua, becomes John Brown University's first athlete to be so honored.

NICKNAMED "Shiffa" for his exceptional maneuverability, Brown has gained national honor for being a prolific scorer. He holds several program career and season scoring marks. In addition to his terrific scoring, Brown, the consummate team player, also holds the season record of 16 assists and career record of 38 assists.

THE talented Brown led the Golden Eagles to a 65-19-2 (.825) record during his four years. In 1993, Brown co-captained the team to a No. 7 national ranking in the final NAIA coaches' poll and a trip to the NAIA National Championships. He was also honored by being selected to represent JBU in the UMBRO-NAIA Senior Bowl in Birmingham, Ala.

WHILE John Brown University men's soccer has been richly steeped with a tradition of great athletes, Brown now stands alone with this recognition of feats and accomplishments. They belong not to the short span of a collegiate career, but to all generations that follow; indeed, the standard to be achieved by aspiring young soccer players in every school yard where future All-Americans begin to dream of wearing the blue and gold of JBU.
