WINNER. Tarrah Stephens’ career was filled with numerous accolades and a championship season. Earning a pair of NAIA All-America second team selections, she also landed on the WBCA All-America Honorable Mention list in three of her five seasons. The four-time All-Sooner Athletic pick, twice to the first team, also picked up the program’s fifth-ever SAC Freshman of the Year. She also finished her career in style, collecting the program’s first-ever SAC Player of the Year and SAC Tournament Most Valuable Player in a swan song season that yielded the program’s first-ever SAC regular season and tournament titles. Tarrah concluded her career by guiding the program to 80 wins, the most of any Golden Eagle in team history.
SCORER. Tarrah’s ability to score was the best the program had ever seen, highlighted by her ability to take over a game and score in bunches very quickly. She rewrote an incredible number of career program records, including points (2,223), field goals (829), free throws (475) and total rebounds (894). Tarrah’s 17.0 points per game finished second all-time, only to Lisa Hunt ’85. She also holds two of the top three spots in the record book for most points in a single game. During her junior season, Tarrah broke a 38-year-old record by pouring in 45 points at Oklahoma Panhandle State, surpassing the previous mark of 38 by Hunt in the 1983-84 season. Earlier that same year, Tarrah also netted 39 points against Evangel in an overtime thriller to hold the third-most points scored in a single game.
